Ashwin Navin is the chairman, co-founder and CEO of Flingo. He is also the co-founder of I/O Ventures, an investor and accelerator for early-stage technology companies. Ashwin was previously the Co-Founder and President of BitTorrent, the largest file-sharing network in the world. By the end of his time with the company, Ashwin’s BitTorrent software was being used to deliver one million movies to viewers per day between over 110 million people world-wide, every month.
Before BitTorrent, Ashwin worked at Yahoo! in its Corporate Development group which handled corporate strategy and acquisitions. Before Yahoo!, Ashwin worked on Wall Street with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch both as an investment banker and equity research analyst. In 2000, he helped start a technology-based financial services company called Epoch Partners. Epoch was essentially the investment banking arm of several online stock brokerages including Charles Schwab, Ameritrade, and TD Waterhouse. Epoch Partners was eventually acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2001.
